About the Topic: "Designing for Architecture"

Creating beautiful spaces and exquisite built environments is what drives many architects.  At times, striving for aesthetics leaves the architect at odds with their engineers who are far more likely to value function over form.  Engineers can explore creative solutions to help balance form versus function.  With case studies and a workshop approach, engineers and architects will learn how to design more beautiful mechanical systems.

About the Speaker: Madison Schultz, P.E., COK ASHRAE President-Elect

Madison SchultzMadison Schultz is passionate about empowering others. She is a Managing Partner at OK BeCo. Previously she has worked at three of the premiere architectural and engineering firms in Oklahoma City where she was responsible for the design of HVAC and plumbing systems in buildings as well as serving in marketing and leadership roles in those companies. She has been in the consulting engineering industry for over 12 years and is a Licensed Professional Engineer. She earned her AS in pre-engineering from Oklahoma City Community College and BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, graduating with special distinction. She currently serves President Elect for the ASHRAE Central Oklahoma Chapter. She also serves as the Young Engineers in ASHRAE Regional Vice Chair for Region VIII and serves on the Personal Development Subcommittee of the YEA Committee. She is a Provisional Corresponding Member of TC6.7 Solar and Other Renewable Energies and TC7.5 Smart Building Systems. She spends much of her time volunteering and generating excitement in pursuing engineering as a career. She is passionate about energy efficient design, design sustainability, and the future of engineering. She was inducted into the Oklahoma City Community College Hall of Fame in November 2015 and is a graduate of Leadership OKC's LOYAL Class XII. An avid crochet, knitter, and quilter, Madison enjoys crafting in her spare time. She and her husband Bryan, an electrical engineer who works in hybrid vehicle battery research and development, have one dog who keeps them perpetually entertained.
